Who Are We?
All the staff at Deaf Solution Ltd are Deaf. Almost all have BSL (British Sign Language) as their first and preferred language and all are fluent in BSL. All staff are immersed in the deaf community and identify strongly with deaf culture. It is very important that our clients who are deaf are supported by someone who is able to match their language needs and this can only be done by people whose first language is BSL.
Many are staff are also trained in Deafblind communication enabling us to support people who are deafblind.
Currently, we employ 12 staff but we are growing all the time as our client base develops. David Morton
CEO
David has had a varied and interesting career starting out in IT and working primarily in Scotland but also travelling throughout the world. Leaving the world of IT David began as a carer progressing to Deaf Community Liaison Officer for Rotherham Council.
When this post finished David set up Deaf Solution as he realised there was a need for deaf support but this was not being met. Over the years Deaf Solution Ltd has grown and is now one of the leading specialist agencies in the region and the only one offering support from a Deaf led organisation.
Diana Moss
Role Supervisor
Diana is one of the most caring and kind individuals we know. She cares for everyone, whether staff member or client, in the same empathic way. Having gained her degree in Interior Design Diana realised her passion was working with people.
Prior to starting with us Diana worked within the Mental Health sector and brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge. Diana works as a supervisor and is responsible for much of the day to day running of the service.
